President Biden signed more executive orders on Monday. The first allows transgender people to serve in the military—a move that repeals a ban from former President Donald Trump. The second focuses on buying more domestic goods as part of Biden’s “Made in America” order.

President Biden’s order redefines what it means for a product to be considered made in America. He says right now companies only have to show that half of the parts were made in the country. Biden says the 50 percent requirement isn’t high enough and his order ensures the value of the parts produced contributes to the American Economy.

The president also signed an executive order that lifts the Pentagon’s ban on transgender people joining the military, reversing former President Trump’s ban. Trump imposed the ban because he said the, quote, the “tremendous medical costs and disruption” of their gender-transition would burden the military, which should be “focused on decisive and overwhelming victory.”
