President Joe Biden is set to meet with leaders of the Bucharest Nine, countries on NATO’s eastern flank, on Feb. 22. It’s to show support for their security after Russia suspended the nuclear arms treaty. NTD spoke to the director of analysis at Strategy & Future, Albert Świdziński, who says Biden’s visit has a large symbolic significance but that Poland is still waiting to hear a more precise chartered path for U.S. support. Furthermore, Świdziński states that if Russia wins its campaign in Ukraine, that will give it political and economic influence in Eastern Europe, including the Baltic states, and eventually Poland.
