The commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is calling on Big Tech to pay its fair share of the cost of internet infrastructure. That’s because a group of Big Tech companies accounts for about three-quarters of traffic on rural broadband networks—but they aren’t paying the billions of dollars to build and maintain those networks.
