Cars burned, gunshots rang out, and explosives shook the city as an intense nighttime robbery caused chaos in the streets of Paraguay.
Sixty robbers attacked a security company, attempting to remove millions.
Antonio Gamarra, a retired police commissioner, talked about the scale of the heist, “This (robbery) is the largest yet and given the (explosive) devices, all the amount of vehicles used, the amount of people, weapons. It is the biggest one.”
One policeman was killed.
The amount of money stolen from the bombed out company headquarters has yet to be determined, but authorities said it is less than the $40 million reported by local media.
