BioNTech to Share Vaccine Technology With China

A new German–Chinese vaccine venture is on the horizon. Germany’s BioNtech and a unit of Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical are joining forces on the project, according to a company filing on Sunday.

The Chinese drugmaker will give BioNTech $100 million in assets and funding. In return, BioNTech will give the Chinese drugmaker its vaccine manufacturing technology. A plant will also be built in China, where BioNTech will produce its vaccines.
