A pig in China refused to be slaughtered and ran away from its farm, but it didn’t run just anywhere. It was later found ‘praying’ in front of a Buddhist temple, and stayed there for several hours until a monk came out and blessed it.
The incident sparked a debate on social media in China. Some say it was on a pilgrimage, while other say it was due to fatigue or a deficit of vitamin E.
Kneeling down in front of a temple and praying was one side, but as it turned home it was still bound for the slaughterhouse. It did not survive the following day.
