Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser on June 7 announced a $9.5 million investment from Bloomberg Philanthropies to a program that trains students in health care and cybersecurity. The Advanced Technical Center allows students to graduate with nursing assistant credentials and complete courses for college credit. Afterward, high school students can immediately enter the workforce and pursue further education in this field.
