Boryeong’s annual mud festival draws millions to Daecheon Beach, South Korea

Did you know that the mud used in Boryeong’s Mud Festival has beautifying effects? The high-quality mud is extracted here and is rich in germanium and minerals, which has anti-aging properties and can remove toxins!

Since 1996, Boryeong developed 16 kinds of mud-based cosmetics, the Boryeong Mud Festival opened 2 years after and has been held since. The large-scale celebration includes 52 ceremonies and 17 attractions, including a huge mud pit and an epic mud slide. There are a variety of activities in Boryeong, from sitting on a speedboat to running a beach marathon.

1. Boryeong Mud Festival

The mud festival is held on Daecheon Beach on Boryeong’s west coast. The annual festival attracts millions from around the world. Massage yourself in the beauty mud and save money on face masks while having fun!

2. Sky Bike

Ever heard of biking in the sky? You can bike around Boryeong’s coastline, a 2.3 km round trip track. Take in the beautiful scenery while pedaling your sky bike. For a more romantic experience, come here during sunset!

3. Zip Line

If you are in for more thrill, zip-line across the water from a 52-meter-high tower. You will be harness to a line about 20 floors above ground. There are four zip-lines side by side so make sure to drag your friends and family to zip down with you! You will reach a maximum speed of up to 80km / h.

4. Water Sports

After you get down and dirty at the mud festival, be sure to come around to the beach for an exhilarating water sport experience. Water activities include speedboat and kayaking. Other activities include paragliding.
