‘Boss Baby,’ ‘Beauty and the Beast’ expected to lead weekend box office

“Boss Baby,” Alec Baldwin’s animated baby with attitude, is predicted to take first place at the weekend box office. With an expected takeway of $27 million, it should leave Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” at second place. “Beauty and the Beast” is expected to take in another $25 million this weekend. “Beauty and the Beast” has so far taken in $900 million worldwide.

“Smurfs: The Lost Village” should get the third place spot with $16 million. The latest ”Smurfs” movie is the third in the franchise.

Expected fourth and fifth place contenders are Scarlett Johansson’s “Ghost in the Shell” and Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin’s “Going in Style.”
