Boston Subway Line to Shut Down for One Month

On Aug. 3, officials from The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) announced that Boston’s orange subway line is going to shut down completely from Aug. 19 until Sept. 19. Officials say this closure comes after the federal transit administration reviewed the Boston system and directed the MBTA to speed up repairs. There have also been problems with the orange line’s new fleet, which was made by Chinese state-owned company CRRC.
