Does this water really instantly turn to ice in Saudi Arabia? Hint, no, it does not. Watch and see!

This week Saudi Arabia endured one of the coldest winters seen as temperatures dipped sub zero in some areas. A turn of weather which dispels the impression of the Gulf Kingdom being a hot desert.

In the northern highlands and other parts of the country, temperatures were reported to have reached -7 centigrade following a cold spell that swept across most regional states.

The degree of cold was captured in one YouTube clip showing water freezing instantly as a man attempt to pour it out. Newspapers reported the clip was shot in the central province of Al Qasseem.

The video however turned out to be fake, or at least the title is purposely misleading.

It is certainly not the freezing temperature that caused the water to turn to ice, but is in fact a cool experiment which may be done at home. The following video explains how it works:
