Prince William is more than just Britain’s Duke of Cambridge. He is also a colonel of the Irish Guards.
It is in that latter role that he will participate in the queen’s birthday parade.
The prince donned the bright red jacket and tall bearskin shako and mounted a white horse for the parade rehearsal on June 10. He looked very much like a movie character—a commander from “Charge of the Light Brigade.”
The actual parade, with the queen in attendance, will take place on June 17.
