British Royals cheer London Marathon runners

Prince William, his wife Catherine, and Prince Harry showed up at the barricades to cheer on runners in the London Marathon, Sunday, April 23.

The royals support the Heads Together charity, which has built a publicity program centered on the marathon, to end the stigma of mental health issues.

Part of the program is a BBC documentary called “Mind Over Marathon,” which followed 10 runners with mental illness preparing to run the race.

Eschewing an elevated royal viewing platform or decorated box, the young royals joined the other Heads Together volunteers behinds the barriers at a street corner to call out their support for the runners.

The pros were moving too fast to pay attention, but the royals shook hands with some of the passing amateurs.
