Police say two brothers, ages 1 and 3, have drowned in their swimming pool in western Pennsylvania.

Uniontown Police were called to the home on Whiteman Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on July 17.

Police say adults were at home performing CPR when they arrived. Officers decided to drive the boys to the hospital in their police vehicles.

“I made the decision to transport them in the SUV. We had four officer and two toddlers en route to the hospital while our officers were performing CPR,” Lt. Tom Kolencik of Uniontown Police told WPXI.

The Resuscitation efforts were not successful.

According to local media TribLive, the two boys are identified as Hunter George Smith, 3, and Hayden Lewis Smith, 1. Their grandfather pulled them out of the pool.

Family members told WPXI the boys were sweet and loving and would be greatly missed.

Authorities are investigating how the boys ended up in the pool.

4-Year-Old Girl Dies in Hotel Swimming Pool During Family Vacation

In a similar story, a 4-year-old British girl has passed away after drowning in a swimming pool at a hotel during her family’s vacation.

The family was on vacation in Egypt.

Skia Watson, the girl, and her sister Lystasia, 11, were on vacation at the Seagull Beach Resort in Hurghada when the girl slipped, banged her head, and fell into the pool, reported The Sun.

A lifeguard leaped in and pulled her out but she was soon pronounced dead.

“We lost sight of Skia for just a moment or two before she fell in … the lifeguard never saw her until it was too late,” a witness relayed comments of a family member.

A manager at the hotel blamed the family, saying: “It happened because the little girl was not being watched.”

A spokesperson for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed the death to Bristol Live.

“We are supporting the family of a British child who died while on holiday in Hurghada, Egypt,” the spokesperson said. “Our condolences are with the family at this difficult time.”

According to the resort’s website, it is a four-star resort.

Seagull Beach Resort “is the perfect location for a wonderful holiday under the warm Egyptian sun,”  it added.

“Only a few minutes from Hurghada airport and within walking distance to downtown Hurghada. The Sea Gull Hotel is the perfect location, where you can combine great fun and action with days full of wellness, sun, and relaxation.”
