On June 9, 2015 in Milpitas, California, city bus driver Tim Watson stopped a kidnapper from abducting a three-year-old boy. Watson was driving his regular morning shift when local police sent out a message to that a young boy had been kidnapped in front of the public library at approximately 10:40 am. The alert asked all bus drivers to stay on the lookout for a man in his 20’s who may be traveling with a crying boy. They also provided a description of the suspected kidnapper.

An hour later, Watson saw the two that he was confident fit the description in his mirror riding on his bus. He pulled his bus over and announced that someone had lost a backpack. In reality, the father of two was attempting to get a closer look without tipping off the suspect. When he saw their shoes and plaid shorts given in the description, he knew he had found them and immediately stepped off the bus and contacted the police. The parents of the child were grateful to both the police and Watson. The suspect was detained on the charge of kidnapping.
