Business Owner Reflects on ‘How Humankind Came To Be’

David Betzold, an owner of a construction company, said he liked that the article “How Humankind Came To Be,” by Falun Gong founder Mr. Li Hongzhi, acknowledges that “the Creator is in charge of it all.” He said he felt that it touches on a lot of aspects that are in the Bible.

“What I liked about this [article]—that a lot of these Eastern culture religions have a similar vibe as this, but—what this one did different than most others is they actually acknowledge that the Creator is in charge of it all. And that’s what I liked about this,” he said, adding that the article contained good virtues.

“I’ve always thought war was disgusting. You go back in history for thousands of years, you look at this war the culture has accepted and actually cherished and honored—for killing people to take their land. It’s like, this is a lot of land. Why are we fighting over this land?” he said. “I think we’re missing the boat of the whole purpose of our creation is to live in harmony with one another, and these religion and governments seem to go against that grain. So the article really hit home. And as a matter of fact, I read it with my family, too.”

“When I read books that make sense and people have a good virtuous attitude and look on life and they’re more selfless instead of being selfish, it’s pretty interesting how we’re supposed to live. I mean, if you step back and look, why are we living life the way we do it? It’s so full of greed and corruption and it’s so simple if people just realize and believe,” he said.
