California Bill Seeks to Give Death Sentence Inmates an Opportunity to Petition After 20 Years

Democratic lawmakers in California have proposed a bill that would allow violent criminals serving life or death sentences to petition for a review of their sentence after 20 years.  The proposed bill just passed the Senate Public Safety Committee, but many opposition groups say the move is taking away the justice given to those who have been brutally murdered.
