The father of Cameron Boyce, a childhood Disney star, posted on Instagram a picture of his son that was taken hours before he died, sharing about the pain he’s experienced following his son’s sudden passing.

“My son. Just hours before he was snatched from our lives,” Victor Boyce wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post on July 11. “I miss him terribly. I hope that no one ever has to feel the agony I’m feeling but no one is immune to tragedy.”

Boyce went on to thank people who had offered support during the tough time in his family’s life. “The outpouring of love and support our family continues to receive is so beautiful and appreciated. Thank you all for helping us through our worst possible situation,” he wrote in the post.

Comments flooded from various stars and fans, all offering their condolences and support for the family.

“I love you and your whole family so much and forever. there was life before this, and now life after this. my thoughts have not left you and they will stay with you,” Actress and singer Dove Cameron wrote.

“Hey Victor, Cameron is our Forever boy. We will carry his goodness forward with us every day of our lives. Look up, he is there! You are not alone,” Director and producer Kenny Ortega wrote. Ortega also posted a tribute to the 20-year-old Disney Star in two Instagram posts.

Actress Selma Blair also took to the comment section of Boyce’s tribute post on Instagram. She said that she was away in treatment away from her own son, Arthur. Back in February, she shared with her fans that she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in August 2018.

“I am in treatment. Away from my son,” she wrote. “And I know how fragile life is for the greatest light bearers. He will not be forgotten at our home in our hearts. Arthur had his first real role model. He talked to everyone about him. And his family and his grandma and sister and everything we read last year. Arthur wanted to as much as he could.”

She continued and wrote about how many people that Cameron Boyce had managed to touch, and despite bearing a different sort of hardship, she wrote that her own grief couldn’t touch that of Boyce’s.

“Your son just had soulful and kind layers that were revealing more and more of what an amazing creation he is. He always will be,” she added. “I can’t touch your grief. I will fall. I wish I could. I wish I could carry some. It would be an honor. A true honor. Alas, a parent wakes alone with their child in the unknown it seems. But he lived so many lives with this one. And you all made a great one. I am sorry. I am sorry. I am here. If I ever can do anything. Sending love.”

According to TMZ, the cause of death was a seizure that occurred when the 20-year-old was sleeping. Boyce’s family said that the young Disney star was undergoing treatment for a medical condition.

“He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him,” his family said, TMZ reported.

“We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother,” the statement read.
