A Russian Olympic gold medalist swimmer has been banned from international competition, continuing a growing trend in sports. This comes after he participated in a rally in support of Russian president Vladimir Putin, and the war in Ukraine.
The bans follow those of the Boston Marathon and Wimbledon–which made similar moves earlier this week—the latter of which, drew criticism from top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic, who called it crazy.
