Cardiologist Worries for Younger Generation as Study Links Vaping to 19-Percent-Higher Risk of Heart Failure

According to a study by the American College of Cardiology, vaping leads to a 19-percent-higher risk of heart failure. Dr. Fahmi Farah, a cardiologist, tells NTD that she worries for the younger generation, with many of them being exposed to such risks unknowingly—as they regard vaping to be a safer option than smoking. The risks of vaping are also compounded by other factors that can damage the heart, such as obesity, hypertension, and diabetes. Dr. Farah says it’s important for parents to become involved and for media companies to help bring attention to the issue, so as to discourage young people from developing this habit.
