Cate Blanchett Gets ‘Icon’ Honor at Zurich Film Festival Awards

On Saturday, Oct. 5, stars including Cate Blanchett, Tommy Hilfiger and director Oliver Stone hit the Zurich Film Festival Green Carpet for the annual event’s awards night.

Blanchett, the Oscar winning actor was given the Golden Icon Award and psychological care system film “Systemsprenger” (system crasher) by Nora Fingscheidt won the Golden Eye for ‘Best Film in the Focus: Switzerland, Germany, Austria Competition’ category.

Director Oliver Stone, was Jury President at the 15th Zurich International Film Festival and said that it was tough to choose the eventual winners, opting to include special mentions for films including “A White, White Day” by Hlynur Pálmason.

The Zurich Film Festival finished on Sunday, with the likes of Zendaya, Kristen Stewart, Javier Bardem, Lewis Hamilton and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau all visiting the Swiss city for the event.
