Construction at the border has officially stopped, and it comes at a cost. According to a Customs and Border Protection official, the halted work represents billions of dollars.
Around 270,000 tons of steel bollard fencing has already been produced, but now won’t be used after Biden’s order to stop construction at the border. That’s according to Mark Morgan, the former Commissioner of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
And on top of that, Morgan says around 5,000 construction workers will be out of jobs unless the Biden administration develops a plan for re-purposing these jobs.
