On Dec. 12, The Epoch Times hosted a Christmas Party in Washington, D.C., bringing together prominent figures who shared their appreciation for the publication’s commitment to true journalism and its role in safeguarding freedom.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), a fervent supporter of The Epoch Times, expressed his admiration, saying: “I’m a big fan of The Epoch Times, as I’m sure you are as well. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year.” Mr. Johnson emphasized the significance of sharing Epoch Times articles within his circles, highlighting the pursuit of truth in journalism.

Robert Destro, former assistant secretary of state for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, commended the gathering of working journalists practicing true journalism. Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-Wis.) acknowledged The Epoch Times as an indispensable media source for protecting freedom.

Jasper Fakkert, editor-in-chief of The Epoch Times, reflected on the flourishing year for the publication, stating: “2023 has been a very exciting year for The Epoch Times. It’s been a year of flourishing in our journalism.” Mr. Fakkert shared that The Epoch Times is now the fourth-largest newspaper in the country by digital and print subscriptions combined.

Washington Bureau Chief Steve Lance from The Epoch Times sister media NTD, highlighted NTD’s mission since its founding in 2000: to report the truth and expose communism. Rep. Mark Alford (R-Mo.) echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that truth is the only thing that matters, and The Epoch Times covers it well.

Mr. Johnson reiterated the value of true journalism crafted by individuals who understand the importance of freedom, drawing attention to the need to teach the principles that made the country great. Mr. Grothman humorously suggested: “Working your way up to number four and maybe next year we’ll put you at number three.”

Jan Jekielek, senior editor and host of the “American Thought Leaders” program on EpochTV, encouraged the growth of The Epoch Times, expressing the desire to see it become the number one news source. “Let’s grow this to number one. Thank you,” he concluded.

The Epoch Times Christmas party in Washington served not only as a festive celebration but also as a platform for prominent voices to rally behind the principles of true journalism, freedom, and the pursuit of truth.
