Cha In Ha, the Korean actor and member of the Korean pop idol music group Surprise U, was found dead in his home on Dec. 3, according to multiple reports.
Fox News reported that Cha was reportedly found by his manager.
Deadline reported that Fantagio, Cha’s management agency, released a statement regarding the death of the actor and idol, writing, “we feel devastated to deliver such heartbreaking and unfortunate news. On December 3, actor Cha In Ha left our sides. We are truly heartbroken to deliver sad news to everyone who has sent lots of love and support to Cha In Ha until now. We are filled with grief at this news that is still hard to believe.”
According to Fox News, the cause of death is unknown at this time. Fantagio has asked fans not to speculate on the cause of the late actor’s death, the statement read, according to Deadline.
“We earnestly ask for rumors to not be spread and for speculative reports to not be released in order for his family, who is experiencing greater sadness more than anyone due to the sudden sad news, to send him away peacefully. As wished by his family, the funeral will be held privately,” the statement read.
Cha In Ha, whose real name is Lee Jae-ho, began his career in the Korean pop group Surprise U, and recently began his acting career.
According to Soompi, Cha made his acting debut in 2017 in a short film called “You, Deep Inside of Me,” and starred in several roles in dramas such as “The Banker,” “Miss Independent Jieun 2,” “Degree of Love,” “Are you Human, Too?” “Clean With Passion For Now,” as well as MBC’s “Love With Flaws,” which began airing on Nov. 27.
According to the Guardian, Cha’s passing was the third unexpected death in the past few months, following former F(x) member and actress Sulli in October, as well as KARA member Goo Hara in November.
Sulli, 25, was found in her home by her manager, according to E! News. The Associated Press reported that the manager checked up on the former idol on Oct. 24 after failed attempts to contact her by phone for several hours. SM Entertainment released a statement regarding her death, stating that her passing was “very hard to believe and sorrowful,” according to the Associated Press.
Goo Hara, 28, was also found dead in her home in Seoul on Nov. 24. It was reported that an associate had found her and contacted the police.
