Chemical weapons team investigating evidence from Syria attack

The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) sent a team of investigators to Turkey on April 13 to collect samples and interview victims of the Syrian chemical weapons attack on April 4.

Soil samples taken at the attack site in the town of Khan Sheikhun in Idlib Province show traces of the nerve gas sarin.

Syria denies using chemical weapons.

Prior investigations show that both sides have used chemical weapons in Syria’s six-year civil war.

Syria has used sarin as well as chlorine gas on rebel-held towns, often killing civilians.

ISIS terrorists have used mustard gas, findings show.
