Video released on the internet by the civil defense group known as the White Helmets on Monday (February 20) appeared to show a child being pulled out of rubble by rescue workers following an airstrike on a building in Damascus, Syria.

The video purports to show Damascus’ Tishrin neighborhood in the aftermath of a government attack, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that up to four people were killed.

The images come as Syrian regime forces are intensifying their efforts against rebel-held parts of the country’s capital.

Rescue workers said army shelling also hit Douma, the main rebel stronghold in Eastern Ghouta with at least two dead.

Video shot by the White Helmets in Douma and uploaded on Sunday (February 19) appeared to show rescuers guiding children away from bomb-damaged buildings.

Separately, clashes continued in the city of Khan Sheikhoun, in Idlib Province, as Syrian jets targeted Islamic State-affiliated militant positions. Video uploaded to social media website purported to show a huge plume of smoke rising from a building on Monday.
