In heartwarming news, a trapped whale was rescued by Chile in the seas of the Chilean Patagonia region this week thanks to a coordinated effort.
The whale was stuck in fishing net, leading Chile’s Maritime Authority to call on fishermen to remove the nets after the rescue.
A convoy led by the Alacalufe General Service boat made the three-plus hour trip off the coast at Puerto Williams to arrive at the site where the whale was trapped.
