China Downplays Xi’s Confrontation With Trudeau

Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Canada’s Justin Trudeau were seen having a candid exchange alongside the Group of Twenty summit in Indonesia this week.

On Thursday, China’s foreign ministry called Canada’s actions in Bali disrespectful and that Canada was responsible for the downturn in China-Canada ties.

Following the Xi-Trudeau confrontation, China’s social media platforms appear to have censored the Canadian prime minister’s name.
