China in Focus (Oct. 8): Vice Presidential Debate Clash Over CCP Virus

In the U.S. Vice Presidential debate, Mike Pence and challenger Kamala Harris went head to head on China. This seems to have triggered a response from the Chinese Communist Party.

An antitrust probe into Google may soon be launched in China. Some are calling it retaliation, following imposed U.S. sanctions on Chinese telecom giant Huawei.

A Chinese national is facing seven years in prison, all for selling religious books. 10,000 of the book seller’s customers were also interrogated by police.

Some countries are handing over biometric databases of their citizens’ personal data to a Chinese company. It’s related to China’s Belt and Road initiative, and affects millions.

And Germany is voicing its opposition to the Chinese regime’s human rights violations at the United Nations. It’s likely to take strong action against Huawei.
