China Issues 98 Percent Fewer Passports in 2021

Chinese authorities seem to be restricting citizens from leaving China. This year, they’ve issued extremely few passports compared to 2019, with a reduction of 98 percent. They’re calling it a pandemic prevention measure, but analysts say other reasons could be at play.
