China Posts Highest Trade Surplus in 70 Years

China seems to have sold much more than it bought last year, with 2021 exports outpacing imports more than ever before. About a third of its trade surplus is tied to the United States. Most surprisingly, that figure moves in the opposite direction to what the U.S.-China trade deal set out to achieve.
