Germany wants China to open up its markets to foreign companies, but said that this process can be done step by step.

German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel made the comments when he met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Berlin on April 26.

Wang said China will make efforts to create a better corporate environment for foreign investors.

Gabriel and Wang also discussed tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

Wang said it is up to North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons, but China was “of course against North Korea developing nuclear weapons.” He also said the United States and North Korea should “conduct talks together.”
