Health inspectors slapped a “C” grade on a Chinatown market after a customer recorded a worker standing on top of fish for sale.

The shocking footage shows the worker at Hung Fee Fish & Meat Food Market in New York City standing on top of the fish while fixing an electrical box.

Apri Davidson recorded the footage, telling the worker: “Seriously, seriously, you’re gonna stand there on the food with your boots.”

The worker looks surprised, saying the store will wash the fish, before kicking one with his boot.

“Oh yeah, so it’s okay” responded Davidson.

An employee at the store later told Pix11 that all the fish the worker stood on were thrown away, but the state Department of Agriculture and Markets soon took action.

“Upon receiving a video exposing an apparent food safety violation at Hung Kee Food Market in Chinatown, the Department sent a food safety inspector to examine the facility,” a spokesperson told Pix 11. “A full sanitary inspection was conducted on Monday, January 8, 2018, resulting in critical deficiencies.”

An employee at the market declined to comment when reached by the New York Post.

The market’s Yelp page was flooded with negative comments.

“DONT EVER shop here!! Absolutely disgusting!!” said one user.

“Dirty shoes on food for sale. Disgusting!!! This place needs to be inspected and shut down immediately,” said another.

However, others said it wasn’t a big deal.

“Ok, I’ve been on the ocean for 30+ years… Have ANY of you freaksouts (who’ve likely never even been to this market) ever seen the deck of a typical commercial fishing boat when operating in full gear?” said one user.

“The bottom of this guys shoes is, by far, not the nastiest thing these fish have touched… That’s for sure! There’s nothing going on here that doesn’t happen all day on every commercial fishing boat on earth.”
