A 4-year-old Chinese boy has been rescued after getting his head stuck in security bars, leaving him dangling from a fourth-story window.

Dramatic footage of the incident shows the boy hanging high above the ground in a residence in Linyi City, in eastern China’s Shandong province.

According to Chinese state media CCTV, the boy climbed out of the window and fell, leaving his head stuck between the bars around the window frame.

The boy’s grandfather was taking a nap at the time, but was woken by the boy’s cries. He called firefighters for help, and they rushed to the scene. The boy’s parents were not home at the time.

Rescuers fastened a rope to the boy’s chest and grasped his clothes. Outside, residents held a quilt for the boy to soften his fall if he slipped.

Rescuers were able to save the boy using a machine to widen the bars, CCTV reported.

Bars are commonly found around windows of residential buildings in China.

Video Reveals Boy Getting Tripped by Pregnant Woman

Another young Chinese boy fell, but not by accident.

A 4-year-old boy was tripped on purpose by a pregnant woman at a restaurant in China and was sent to a hospital, state media reported on April 23, 2018.

The state broadcaster noted that the boy’s parents sent him to the hospital soon after the incident as there was a bruise on the boy’s head.

The report said the boy from a nearby store was rushing into the restaurant to collect some chopsticks for his parents, and exiting with the chopsticks when he was tripped.

The boy’s mother said he has a congenital heart disease but was in good condition and the woman apologized to the family at a police station on April 20, CCTV said.
