A trade war between China and the United States will bring “nothing but harm,” Chinese Commerce Minister Zhong Shan said on Saturday (March 11), on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the country’s National People’s Congress.

Zhong said he was looking forward to meeting his U.S. counterpart Wilbur Ross to discuss the trade issues between the two largest economies of the world.

Zhong Shan, who became China’s minister of commerce in February, praised Ross for being “an excellent entrepreneur” and “an expert in negotiation.”
