The Chinese Regime imposes new sanctions on Trump administration officials. That includes former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, an outspoken critic of the regime’s human rights violations.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs will impose sanctions on former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and other Trump administration officials and associates including Peter Navarro, Robert O’Brien, David Stilwell, Matthew Pottinger, Alex Azar, Keith Krach, Kelly Craft, John Bolton, and Steve Bannon.

The retaliatory move comes one day after Pompeo declared the CCP’s repression of Uyghur Muslims in the Xinjiang region a “genocide.” Biden’s pick for secretary of state, Antony Blinken, told a Senate hearing on Tuesday that he agreed with the designation. The CCP’s repression of Uyghurs has drawn international condemnation. Its perpetrated through a network of internment camps and a mass surveillance system.

The American officials named and their immediate family members will be banned from entering mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao. The sanction also restricts companies affiliated with them from doing business with China.
