Chinese leader Xi Jinping has landed at Palm Beach International Airport. He was welcomed by U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Xi is in the United States for his first face-to-face meeting with U.S President Donald Trump. Trump will host Xi and the Chinese delegation at his Mar-a-Lago retreat in Florida.

The leaders of the world’s two biggest economies are expected to hold a meeting later today and dine together with their wives in the evening. Tomorrow they will have more discussions and a working lunch.

White House officials have set low expectations for the meeting, saying it will set the foundation for future dealings.

At the top of the agenda are discussions on trade and North Korea.

China and the United States are expected to work together to get nuclear-armed North Korea to halt its arms development and stop conducting missile test launches.

The country’s actions have been a major source of tension on the Korean Peninsula and in Japan.

North Korea is working to develop an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of hitting the United States.
