A video circulating online is drawing attention to the struggles of some Chinese residents. In the clip, they can be seen shouting from the windows of their apartment building asking for help. They’re facing an ongoing food crisis as strict lockdown measures have trapped many inside their homes.

The video’s captions say these residents are from Tonghua, a city in northeastern China that borders North Korea. It recently made headlines because the hundreds of thousands of residents there are facing a food crisis, even though local supermarkets don’t appear to be short on supplies.

Residents there are running out of food because they can’t go out to buy groceries. Authorities put them under a strict lockdown mandate following new reports of CCP virus cases. Officials promised that community workers would deliver groceries. But many locals say they never received anything.
