A Chinese messaging app is reportedly reading private information on people’s computers. It even uploads some of that data to the web.

One messaging app is stuck in the spotlight in mainland China. That’s because the app secretly reads users’ internet browsing history.

The app is called QQ. It’s a messaging software made by Chinese tech giant Tencent. It boasts users in the United States, China, and other countries.

One user in mainland China discovered the secret function on Monday. His computer’s anti-virus software revealed it to him.
