Chinese Navy Ship in the Philippines for ‘Goodwill’

Amid diplomatic tensions between China and the Philippines, a Chinese navy training vessel docked Wednesday at the port of Manila in the Philippines’ capital.

With hundreds of cadets and sailors on board, it’s making a three-day stop for, quote, “goodwill.”

The largest of China’s naval training ships the vessel is wrapping up a four-country tour in the South China Sea.

It previously visited Vietnam, Thailand, and Brunei.

But to the Philippines, the presence of a Chinese ship may be cause for concern.
