Chinese pandas adapt to their new Berlin home

Two pandas arrived on Saturday from a China. They will stay at the Berlin Zoological Garden for the next 15 years. Germany will pay China $1 million per year to host them.

The male panda, Jiao Qing, expresses his dominance by eating whenever he likes and occupying his own space. The female, Meng Meng, is calm and affectionate. The two seemed comfortable in their new home.

They use their time to lounge around and chew on succulent, nutritious bamboo.

When the G20 summit comes to Germany next month Angela Merkel and Xi Jinping will both welcome the pandas.
