Chinese Premier Li Keqiang visited New Zealand on March 27. He was welcomed in a traditional ceremony at Government House in Wellington.

Li was received by New Zealand’s governor general with a traditional Maori Hongi, or nose rub. Then, Li and his wife Cheng Hong watched a traditional Haka being performed.

The Chinese delegation was greeted by New Zealand’s Prime Minister Bill English and his wife Mary English, after which Li inspected the guard of honor.

After the welcome ceremony, Li attended a bilateral meeting with English.
