Chinese Vaccine Efficacy Raises Questions

A World Health Organization (WHO) panel said on March 31 that two Chinese vaccines have presented efficacy data that meets the WHO standard. That includes vaccines produced by Chinese state-owned firms Sinopharm and Sinovac.

So far, there’s no public data on the Sinopharm vaccine’s efficacy, while the Sinovac vaccine’s efficacy rate is only a little over 50 percent, according to data from Brazilian clinical trials.
