The CHIPS and Science Act allocates 280 billion dollars toward boosting domestic semiconductor manufacturing, research, and development. The White House says the bill will ensure the U.S. advances its scientific and technological edge. The CEO of New York-based microchip maker Global Foundries welcomed the bill.
