Based on the announcement by Warner Brothers on Sept. 27, “The Mule” both directed by and starring Clint Eastwood, will make its debut on Dec. 14 in theaters nationwide.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s the first time for Eastwood to appear on big screen since 2012 in “Trouble With the Curve.”

Several other stars will also participate in the crime drama, including Dianne Wiest, Michael Pena, Andy Garcia, Laurence Fishburne, Alison Eastwood, Taissa Farmiga, and Ignacio Serricchio.

The movie is going to tell the story of Earl Stone—Eastwood’s character—who is in his 80s and has just lost his company. Stone is broke and alone, and is offered a job requiring only driving skills. Stone eventually finds out that he is actually working for a Mexican cartel as a drug courier.

Although the incident saves him from his money problems, with the increasing cargo, Stone begins to appear on law enforcement’s radar. He also face danger from the cartel enforcers as he attempts to resolve mistakes from the past.

Clint Eastwood has also brought Bradley Cooper on board with a small role in the movie, according to Variety’s report in May 2018.
