Communism Expert on 2020 Election: ‘It’s Either Going to Be Way Worse, or Way, Way Better’

SAN FRANCISCO—The 2020 presidential election will determine whether the U.S. Constitution is destroyed or preserved, according to an expert.

Trevor Loudon, an expert on communism and it’s many proxies who has spent many years researching U.S. history and politics, spoke in San Francisco about the importance of the 2020 election regarding its potential impact on American values.

Loudon says that this election will be a contest between communism and freedom.

“It’s a very stark contrast. It’s either going to be way worse, or way, way better,” said Loudon. “So I think everybody who cares for liberty, everybody who cares about the Constitution and prosperity, has to get involved. They have to be part of the decision-making process in this next election.”

One example is gun rights. Recently, San Francisco declared the National Rifle Association a terrorist organization. Gun rights advocates, such as San Francisco mayoral candidate Ellen Lee Zhou, argue that such an action is violating the Second Amendment’s right to bear arms.

“The group itself is promoting how to use guns, and how to own guns safely and protect yourself and protect your family and protect the nation when it’s needed,” said Zhou, adding that declaring such a group, of which she is a member, a terrorist organization “is a violation of the United States Constitution.”

Another example is when California attempted to pass a bill that requires a candidate running for president or governor to release tax information to be eligible for election. A lawyer argued that it is unconstitutional, since the requirements for president were already laid out by the Founding Fathers.

According to Loudon, America is now far from our founders’ ideals.

Traditional American values include individual freedom, the opportunity for competition, and success through hard work.

But now, he said, they’re being destroyed through “leftist policies” that increase government control, taxes, and censorship.

Louden said he believes Trump is on the right track in his prioritizing American values, building up the border for national security, and supporting American businesses. But he said there’s one thing Trump needs in order to make it work:

“For President Trump to be effective, and help transform this country, bring freedom back to this country, he would need the House. He would need control of the House, because that’s where laws come from,” said Loudon.

People across the globe look to the United States as a model of a free society because its Constitution outlines inalienable rights that define the independence of its people; rights like freedom of religion and speech. But Loudon says people need to be part of the election process and realize what values they are voting for in order for it to work.

Louden used a famous line by one of the Founding Fathers as an example. In response to what kind of government the Founding Fathers created, Benjamin Franklin simply said, “A republic, if you can keep it.”
