A natural delicacy: Prawns boiled in a coconut

The weather is getting warmer and warmer. It’s time to get outside and BBQ!

What do you have for a barbecue? Steaks, burgers, vegetables, and grilled cheese… Maybe sandwiches and pizza are new for you, but definitely worth a try. Here’s a truly treat that you won’t expect: boil prawns or shrimps in a coconut.

It’s not a prank. This is a unique cooking method introduced from the west of Vietnam. It’s convenient because the coconut is a natural pot. You just cut open the top of a coconut, but this time, instead of putting a straw, you place a couple of prawns inside the coconut.

Then you place the coconut on the grill or the oven and boil the juice with the prawns for a while. After the prawns’ shells turn to pink and their meat becomes white, it’s time to serve and enjoy the delicious delicacy!

Watch the video and see how they make the dish!
