Cultural Revolution Dance Returns to China Schools

A unique piece of history seems to be repeating itself in China.

Students from multiple Chinese schools have begun to learn a particular kind of dance. It was previously only seen during China’s Cultural Revolution during the 1960s and ’70s.

The Cultural Revolution marked a violent sociopolitical purge in the country. It led to a forced overhaul of much of traditional Chinese culture and replaced it with communist ideology.
