In the era of machines humans have become a little lazy. Machinery has relieved us from strenuous and repetitive work, but at the same time it has taken away the challenges of hard work. During these times the temptation to take the easy way through everyday duties is prominent. We drive a car instead of walking or horseback, we write e-mails instead of handwritten letters with beautiful calligraphy, and buy food instead of grow it ourselves in a garden that needs to be maintained. With the advent of modern technology the old ways are effectively being forgotten.
Despite the benefits machines have brought to society, the situation also presents many downsides. More traditional ways of approaching said everyday problems often required preparation, education and effort. It’s precisely these qualities which we end up losing when we take the easy way.
