DC to Hire More Female Officers

On Tuesday, one week into Women’s History Month, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser joined D.C. police chief Robert Contee to announce an initiative to hire more female officers. Contee signed a national pledge to increase the number of women at his agency.  The 30 by 30 pledge seeks to increase women’s participation in recruit classes to 30 percent by 2030.
